Project of interactions with the society

a project of technology transfer from computer science and applied mathematics to the industry: LIP is already a partner with various firms;
a project of popularization of mathematical knowledge, with on the one hand, enhanced outreach towards high school teachers and students, and on the other hand, the creation of a « Maison des Mathématiques à Lyon ». This would be a unique place in France, where exhibitions, lectures and debates would allow the public to acquire and continuously enrich a genuine mathematical culture. This ambitious and extremely original project relies on teams having a true experience in this domain (the CNRS gateway « Images des maths », the actions « Maths à Lyon » and « Un chercheur dans la classe », a preparation to the olympiads) and will be efficiently supported by IREM (= Institut de Recherche en Enseignement des Mathématiques).
