Each year a significant number of researchers, at various stages of their careers, will be invited to visit Lyon for some time. Most of these invitations will be scheduled for the thematic quarter, but others will be spread over the year and between the partners. This project is designed to have a positive impact on all fields of the mathematical research in Lyon, but it will be most influential on those at the interface of mathematics and computer science or other sciences.

After a few years, the scientific program will be evaluated. If the conclusion is positive, the next aim will be to create in Lyon, with new financial partners, an international center of mathematical research bound to the « Maison des Mathématiques à Lyon ».

Some sporadic invitations will also be made possible and a post-doctoral program will offer a few positions each year.
