Research themes

Members of the institute belong to the following teams:

  • Algebra, Geometry, Logic (AGL)
  • Combinatorics, Number Theory (CTN)
  • Analysis, Partial Differential Equations (EDPA)
  • History of Mathematics (HM)
  • Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing (MMCS)

Cross-displinary teams

An Inria Research Team (EPC) (which was created in 2011 and 2015) is also integrated into ICJ:

  • DRACULA - Multi-scale modelling of cell dynamics: application to hematopoiesis.

Moreover, computing ressources and activities of ICJ have been gathered in a team called Calcul, which acts at a national level.

University collaborations

The ICJ brings together researchers in pure and applied mathematics from the following institutes:

  • University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (main affiliation)
  • CNRS, affiliated with the National Institute of Mathematics and their interactions (INSMI), the Instituteof Information Sciences and their interactions (INS2I) and the Instituteof Biological Sciences (INSB)
  • École Centrale de Lyon
  • INSA Lyon
  • University Jean-Monnet de Saint-Etienne
  • ICJ has also a joint research project with INRIA.

The Institut Camille Jordan, together with the departments of mathematics of Grenoble, Clermont-Ferrand, Chambéry and Lyon, are members of the Rhône-Alpes-Auvergne Federation for Research in Mathematics (Fédération de recherche en mathématique Rhône-Alpes-Auvergne(FRMRAA)), established in 2013 and inaugurated in 2014.
